Mother’s Day Was Special At The Open Shelter

The Open Shelter’s 2025 Mother’s Day Event was a very special occasion thanks to the support, efforts, love, and care of so many.

We are so grateful to Patrick & Molly Barrington, the Dublin Coffman Rocks lacrosse team, and their parents. These young men did a fantastic job in making sure the 40 women and children in attendance had a great time.

Church of The Messiah’s “Bible Babes” pampered the women in attendance with wonderful nail treatments. Thanks to all of them for making the day brighter! They also provided care packages for all that attended.

Thanks to Anne Grunden for linking us up with some wonderful Bath & Body Works items that were used for gift bags and baskets for all of the women in attendance. It was so nice to see all of the smiles!

And the food….it was a delicious spread! Thank you to The Berwick for the magnificent meal and to Giant Eagle for the cake.

Meghan Browne Style brought jewelry for all of the women that attended. The bracelets and necklaces were admired and appreciated by everyone. See more of their lovely pieces at http://www.ShopMBStyle.com.

AnneMarie Luna Buswell treated those who wanted to participate to Reiki. It is a Japanese healing technique that focuses on manipulating energy flow in the body to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and support the body’s natural healing abilities.

It was a special event filled with laughter, joy and love. We strive to provide fun events around each Holiday to make things brighter for those we serve, homeless and marginally housed men, women, and children. The only way we are able to do this is thanks to support from those in our community.

YOUR Support Makes It Happen. Thank You!
